BENJAMIN FOODS HONORED BY TROOPS IN AFGHANISTAN
Posted: December 8, 2011
Hatboro, PA, December 8, 2011: Benjamin Foods has been recognized by Marines in Afghanistan for its ongoing support during America 4R Marines’ annual “Merry Christmas Marines and Sailors”
drive. On Thursday, America 4R Marines founder Patricia Lewis presented Benjamin Foods with an American flag that had flown over the base at Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan.
Philadelphia’s NBC10 News was on hand for the ceremony and will feature the story on December 8 at 6:15 pm.
Benjamin Foods has been donating warehouse space to America 4R Marines to store all of the items the non-profit collects throughout the year for its annual drive. Benjamin Foods also supports the mission by providing labor for receiving, sorting, and delivery. More than a truckload of various items are delivered by Benjamin Foods to a local school where they are placed into 5,500 stockings
that are shipped to Marines stationed in the Middle East.
American 4R Marines was founded in 2006 to provide comfort to Marines and Sailors deployed in some of the most unfriendly outposts in the Middle East. They provide the basic amenities that many Americans take for granted every day – useful products that are otherwise inaccessible to them and offer a little comfort from home.
